In social studies the grade 3 students arestudying about the people working to protect our lives.

 

今回は麻布消防署の方々に、ゲストティーチャーとして来ていただきました。

Firefighters in Azabu Fire Stationvisited us as guest teachers this time.

映像を見て学習したり…

The students studied by watching videos,

実際に防火服を見せていただいたり、インタビューをしたりしました。

looked at real fire suits, andinterviewed the firefighters.

 

人々の安心・安全のための努力や工夫、消防署の仕事についてよく分かりました。

The students learned a lot about theefforts and ingenuity that go into protecting our security and safety as wellas the jobs of the fire station.

 

子どもたちにとって、防火や防災について見つめなおすよい機会にもなりました。

This was also a good opportunity for thestudents to take a second look at fire and disaster prevention.
